Marks a historic shift in the tech landscape. SpaceX has acquired xAI in a strategic merger designed to build “off-planet” data centers. As AI models grow larger, the energy required to cool massive server farms on Earth has become an environmental and economic bottleneck.
By launching dedicated V3 Starlink satellites equipped with liquid-cooled AI processors, Musk aims to use the natural cold of space for cooling and 24/7 solar exposure for power. This vertical integration allows SpaceX to provide high-speed AI processing directly from orbit to any point on Earth, virtually eliminating the latency and power issues currently facing ground-based facilities.
