Until today, when a multi-million dollar satellite ran out of maneuvering fuel, it became “space junk.” That changed this morning when OrbitFab’s tanker craft successfully transferred hydrazine to a communications satellite.
This “gas station in space” model will drastically reduce the cost of maintaining global internet constellations. By extending the life of existing hardware, companies can save billions and reduce the amount of debris cluttering our orbit.
